Bad guys win KC vs. St. Louis Fan Fest fight
Major League Baseball is putting out some encouraging news today about Kansas City’s recent experience with the All-Star Game.
Positively, MLB called Tuesday’s game the “Most Social Event in Baseball History: There were 1,611,940 combined Twitter and Facebook comments on the All-Star Game and State Farm Home Run Derby in ’12 vs. 538,578 in ’11 – an increase of +199%.”
And MLB said Fan Fest at Bartle Hall drew 119,092 fans, the fourth highest total ever.
Which got me thinking: Who beat us?
Drat: It was our red-clad foes in St. Louis.
When the All-Star Game visiting there in 2009, Fan Fest attracted 150,804 people.
That was the highest mark, by far, beating the runnerup number of 129,021 in New York City in 2008.
I’m sure St. Louis baseball fans will lord this fact over our head.
But just remember 1985 and Don Denkinger, guys and gals.

Let’s hope the Midwesterners on the KC side of the state still have the manners to hold professional athletes to their word and don’t allow them to get away with lying. I apologize that people upholding the idea of honesty offends you.
