Asteroid fly-by, meteor strike injures Russians.... Could this be Revelations?

You couldn’t make this up in a remix of the “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast.

An asteroid is set to pass close to Earth at 1:24 p.m. today. No disturbances or disasters are expected. Close is 17,100 miles.

But the closeness does give people pause. Combine that with a meteor hitting central Russia on Friday and injuring 500 people and folks start to wonder whether the sky is falling or an invasion is starting.

Reuters reports that a lot of the injuries were from flying glass from the explosion and shock waves. The sight of the meteor streaking across the sky, visible more than 100 miles away, and the sound will give people something to talk about for generations.

But no aliens crawled from a hole left from the impact asking to be taken to Earth’s leader. If one had, no one would know to whom the alien should speak.
