Alabama protesters tell Kobach to shut up

A large bloc of Kansans presumably don’t mind that Kris Kobach, their secretary of state, goes careening around the country trying to sell his hatred of immigrants.

But Kobach’s traveling show didn’t go down well in Alabama, as you can read here.

Which raises a question:

Why is Kansas being held up to ridicule in these other states by the performance of its secretary of state?

And, even if you support Kobach - and again, many people do - shouldn’t he be spending a lot more of his time battling all the immigrants he wants to control in his home state rather than spreading himself thin in other states?

After all, as critics of immigration would say, Kansas’ problems haven’t been wiped out, even with Kobach as secretary of state.

So unless he’s trying to make more money on the side writing laws for other states, you’d think Kobach could be staying home a little bit more these days?

Topeka is far too small a stage for Kris’ ego. He craves demagoguery in a vaster arena.

Seriouslym no UMKC alum should give a dime until the University apologizes to us all for devaluing our degrees by having hired him as a professor.

Yep YT, it is always interesting to read how ILLEGAL ALIENS can come to a legal hearing, disrupt it and suffer no consequences.

You open-border zealots think this is cute I know, but these people are continuing to break the law and you people praise it. On the other hand, you do have a shining example in our leader, the big 0, who also has no respect for our immigration laws. Monkey see, monkey do I guess…

These people are here out of the generosity of America and they won’t even respect our courts…. geez….

Meh. A couple of loons wearing ‘stop’ t-shirts and waving a sign briefly interrupted Mr. Kobach.

Police escorted the tantrum toddlers out to a squad car and into the city jail as guests for the night.

    God bless you, Kris Kobach.

    God bless you, Kris Kobach.”

Alabamans have plenty of reasons to be upset. Kobach’s law has cost their agribusiness hundreds of millions of dollars. Their unemployment rate is up to 8.3% in July. I Bet that most of the affected Alabamans are asking God for something other than blessings for ‘ol Kris.

Well GH I Googled the subject and it returned 30.700,000 hits. You ought to find at least one.

Why shouldn’t the lady holding the “undocumented” sign be treated as someone turning herself in? Have we not made a mockery out of our laws? What would happen to the guy going down Ward Parkway, leaning out his drivers side window, screaming…”I’m drunk!!!!”. Both are admitting guilt, but they would be treated very differently.

Yael, how many times have you now misstated the issue. As noted above, you said this was an anti immigration law. It is an anti ILLEGAL immigration law. Obviously, you know that, Mark knows that but you intentionally misstate the issue. You seriously misinform the public when you do that.

Mark, do you really believe what you wrote? Really? Geez.

And Phil, this took a while for me to type. I’m back up off the floor, but my stomach really, really aches from laughing so hard. Really. You….the Philmeister of these blogs. The pompous Phil accusing someone else of being a demagogue. That is really special, but, as I said, it really made my side hurt.

From Bloomberg GH; You should learn to Google. I know that you and some of the others probably only have The Weekly Standard and Fox in your favorites on your browser but try branching out a little. Looks like I underestimated….

As a result, Addy estimates, the state’s gross domestic product will decline by $2.3 billion to $10.8 billion for every year the law is in effect and will cost $56.7 million to $264.5 million in tax revenue.”

See Alabamans have plenty of reason to wish Kobach well LOL!

    George? Kent? Where are you?

The smart way to have handled this mess would have been to establish guest worker permits documenting all foreign workers, their identity, country of origin and issue them a SS number that does not have any related benefits (except that they pay into the system thus benefiting SS & Medicare recipients). Give all non-criminal aliens the opportunity to register, THEN crack down on those who lack guest worker status. But no, the Tea party doesn’t have the patience to do anything the smart way.
