Akin v. McCaskill, Round VI: Poor performance on Simpson-Bowles question

Someone asks question about how Simpson-Bowles could have been used to get to a better budget.

And despite a few specifics, neither Todd Akin nor Claire McCaskill gets into a real answer.

Should be really cut defense by tens of billions of dollars? If so, why?

And should be really cut entitlements, and if so, how?

And should we raise taxes?

Very disappointing performance on this question by all candidates.
