10 Reasons to Vote for Mitt Romney

Midwest Voices contributing columnist: Tim Tankard

10) Taxes: If you make more than $250K a year, voting for Mitt Romney is a no-brainer. Unless you enjoy giving your money away to freeloaders.

9) Health Care: Americans take care of themselves. If you’ve lost your insurance or have a “pre-existing condition”, is that the government’s problem?

8) Candy: Did you have fewer Halloween trick-or-treaters at your house last week? You can thank Michelle Obama for that. Democrats would prefer that we all hand out broccoli.

7) Guns: They say Obama hasn’t done anything to get our guns, but we all know he’s just biding his time, waiting for that second term. Just ask the Russians.

6) Religious Faith: We may never know if Obama is secretly a Muslim, but we do know that his tolerance for gay and women’s rights is an affront to fundamental Christian values.

7) Keeping Your Money: Forced to hide your investments in offshore accounts to avoid paying your federal taxes? Romney feels your pain.

4) Role of Government: Let’s be honest, who do you trust to look out for your best interests? Big Government or Big Business? (How about Big Bird?)

3) Political Gridlock: As the governor of Massachusetts, Romney worked with a Democratic legislature to pass such things as healthcare reform in his home state. Though he regrets that now, it does show he can get things done.

2) Climate Change: At the Republican convention Romney said: “Obama is pledging to slow the rise of the oceans and heal the planet. My promise is to help you and your family.” Sure we all hate floods, but families do come first.

1) The Kansas City Chiefs: As president, Romney has promised that on “day one” he will implement a five-pint plan to fix the Chiefs and restore them to their days of national glory. That’s no joke.

Five pints will make a dent in any problem, at least temporarily. Some Chiefs fans may have already tried it.

After reading the above top 10, I’m changing my vote from Obama to Romney. He’s one of a kind.

    11) From those uber-right wing nuts at CNN: I’m young, female and voting for Mitt Romney.

Sadly, many of the folks who will vote for Mitt have reasons about as rational.

    1. Mitt is so white that a bath in Clorox would not matter, while the other guy … surely you’ve noticed … is, uh…

Another reason is that you’ll never have reason to stay mad at Mitt for long. He’s a different Mitt every couple of days. The real irony would be if he turned out to me a moderate Democrat after all. Wouldn’t that just frost their cupcakes?

Phil, let me have the esteemed Democrats, Harry Reid, Bill Clinton and Joe Biden complete your last thought.

Obama is clean and articulate. He could be successful due to his light skin appearance and speaking patterns with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted one. He would have been getting us coffee a few years ago.

Another interjection of race by the left”

Ya know GH? I don’t think you even read the posts anymore. That was Steven who brought up those old out of context quotes.

If your guy loses tomorrow, and it’s increasingly likely he will, it will be the fault of the right wing of your own party more that anything else. Romney had to adopt your extreme positions to get through the primaries and it wasn’t until he disavowed you that his chances in the general election improved (sadly for him, too late). Sooner or later it will occur to the rest of the party that, despite all the Koch et al money, they’re going to have to do the same if the Republican party is to be viable. A party of old white men can’t survive in a mocha America of men and women. Your Republican party is over. A new party will emerge that espouses an inclusive conservative message…. but it may take a generation.

Reagan is dead! Long live Reagan!
