Neighborhoods fire back at Nelson Art Museum poobahs

Friday's editorial: Finally, more fuel-efficient cars are on the way

Officials with the Bush administration and U.S. automakers are patting themselves on the back this week for finally embracing stricter fuel efficiency standards.

The new rules announced by the Department of Transportation will save Americans billions of dollars a year and reduce pollution in the future.

Sebelius must not knuckle under to bad coal plant compromise

Friday's editorial: KC school board needs unity to succeed

The swearing-in of three new Kansas City school board members and the election of a new president give the Kansas City school board the chance for a new beginning.

Rather than inspire continued sighing and head-shaking that so often accompanies discussions about the school district, the board can show cooperation and determination to address district needs.
